Hydration is Key:
- Skip washing your face with water for 8 hours after treatment. Water can irritate sensitive skin.
- Apply a healing cream with ceramides and paraffin every 2-3 hours (8 times a day) to create a protective layer and prevent moisture loss.
- Regular moisturizers aren’t enough – these special creams helps your skin heal faster and reduces pain.
Sunscreen and Sensitive Skin:
- Avoid scheduling appointments right after your procedure to minimize irritation.
- Skip sunscreen for the first 2 days – even sunscreen can irritate your skin CO2 Laser Care.
- Test a small amount of sunscreen on your face before applying it more broadly. Discontinue if it irritates.
Medication and Pain Management:
- Take an antiviral medication for 7 days starting 1 day before your treatment to prevent herpes outbreaks.
- I typically prescribe an analgesic 1-2 hours before and 4-6 hours after treatment for pain relief.
Soothing Techniques:
- After 8 hours, use a cold gauze pad with saline solution or chamomile tea to soothe the skin.
- Avoid hot environments – opt for air-conditioned or well-ventilated areas.
Chemical Exfoliants:
- Stop using acids like hydroquinone or retinoic acid 3 days before your treatment.
- Wait an additional 3-5 days after your skin heals completely before resuming these products.
Boost Your Results (Optional):
- Consider using a facial mask containing beta-glucan and collagen after treatment. This can significantly improve results and speed up healing.
