Hello, I’m Dr. Guilherme Szerman, and today we’re going to talk about the treatment for cellulite and sagging skin on the legs. After all, what is the best procedure to treat this issue that affects both well-being and self-esteem?

Cellulite and sagging skin are two of the most common aesthetic concerns that affect the appearance of the skin—especially in areas like the legs, buttocks, abdomen, and arms—and they directly impact many people’s self-confidence.
These conditions may be caused by a variety of factors, such as genetic predisposition, hormonal changes, a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, and the natural aging of the skin.
The good news is that there are now effective treatments that help fight these issues, improving firmness, smoothness, and body contour. Among the best treatments for cellulite and sagging, laser stands out for delivering visible results with safety and advanced technology.
Does treatment for cellulite and sagging skin on the legs work?
Among the available treatments for cellulite and sagging in the legs, laser therapy is one of the most recommended due to its proven effectiveness. At our clinic, we use two types of equipment: the Harmony platform and a device known as NIR Soprano.
Both treatments are non-invasive, which is a great advantage—especially for those looking to treat cellulite on the legs and sagging on the thighs and other areas without surgery. Invasive treatments often involve discomfort and higher risk.
With Harmony Laser, the device generates radiofrequency, which heats the tissue internally, reaching up to 65°C (149°F). This temperature helps to “melt” localized fat.
The Harmony Laser also stimulates support cells, such as collagen and fibroblasts. That’s why this procedure promotes what we call body remodeling, helping the patient gain better body contours while effectively reducing cellulite and sagging.
How many laser sessions are needed for cellulite and sagging?
On average, 10 sessions are recommended. However, the exact number should be determined after an initial evaluation with a dermatologist.
At Clínica de Pele, we have experienced doctors who will assess each individual case. But generally speaking, 10 laser sessions with 15-day intervals are a good guideline for treating cellulite and sagging.
What happens to the skin after laser treatment for cellulite and sagging?

After treatment with the Harmony Laser, the skin typically shows visible and progressive results. Even within the first few sessions, you may notice improved texture, less of the “dimpled” cellulite appearance, and firmer skin.
The Harmony technology acts on the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving local circulation. Some redness might appear within the first few hours after treatment, but it’s temporary. Over time, you’ll notice smoother, more toned, and younger-looking skin.
Does the laser treatment hurt?
The patient feels a mild warmth in the treated area—nothing too uncomfortable. In addition to Harmony, we also offer the Axit treatment, which can be used not only on the body but also on the neck area with great results.
Treatment with NIR Soprano
The NIR (Near-Infrared) treatment uses slightly different technology. It’s a high-tech infrared method that helps improve skin firmness.
When patients come to us seeking treatment for sagging skin, we often recommend NIR. It’s also a non-invasive procedure that generates heat in the treated area, similar to Harmony.
This heat stimulates the skin’s support cells—fibroblasts and collagen—and gradually, the patient notices firmer, tighter skin. Most patients leave the clinic feeling very satisfied.
It’s a medium- to long-term treatment, meaning results aren’t instant. But with proper medical guidance and regular sessions—again, typically 10 sessions spaced 15 days apart—patients usually report excellent results.
Both treatments are internationally recognized and approved. I always recommend that patients read and research beforehand. During the consultation, we carefully assess each individual and guide them toward the best treatment for their case.
